So during the winter of course we need good coats and jackets. However,
if you hands and neck are exposed, then the rest of your body is cold even
if you have a good jacket. If my hands are cold, it is like the end of the
world for me. The great thing about fashion is that the clothes you wear can

the one thing that sticks out in your outfit!

Shame on me for forgetting to include Charlotte Olympia's tongue-in-cheek,
fabulous, surreal shoes into my previous list of my Top 10 Fall Heels list.
The shoes were presented earlier this year during the Fall 2011 fashion shows.
The shoes are channeling somewhat of a film noir feel. If you don't know what
film noir is, let me tell you: it is a term used to describe stylish Hollywood
dramas that usually emphasize sexual motivations, nonetheless. If we look back
on that definition, please take note of keywords, such as "SEXUAL" and "STYLISH".
That's exactly what Charlotte Olympia accomplished with these shoes, well more

An affordable doesn't make it not high fashion. That's
what I would argue if someone were to say otherwise. J.Crew, having it's
rightful spot in New York Fashion week displayed clean, colorful, and chic.
The pieces were colorful enough to feel "trendy", but if you really look at
the pieces you will see that that blouse/pant/dress is something you would
wear in 5 years.

This morning I woke up with my feet in absolute pain!!! Last night,
as you all may know, was Fashion's Night Out. It was silly of me to
think I could wear heels for 6 hours in the city without my feet

like a dream. Michael Kors AND the Rockettes within 10 feet of me,
freebies, and of course shopping. I bought myself a pair of Zara
snakeprint pants, which are not as crazy looking as you'd think
they would be, and a black bag from H&M. I will be sure to show

Color in the Fall?

Go for it! Grays, blacks, and browns need not to be the only colors
that your fall wardrobe consists of. Though, year-round I'm usually
a dark color sort of person, I advise all of you to expand your color
palettes. I know it's something I should do. I'm not telling you all
to buy clothing with spring colors or to completely avoid greys,
blacks, and browns, but you should go for rich oranges, purples,
and other autumn hues to incorporate into your overall look.

So every once in a while, as I'm sure everyone else does too, I get in
those moods where all I want to do is lie down and watch TV. If you are
like me and always have fashion on the brain, I tend to watch obscene
amounts of shows pretty about about fashion.

My three favorites in no particular order:
1. The Rachel Zoe Project: First and foremost I love her style. It is so
Cali-boho chic. Though, I still prefer the NYC style, she still looks fabulous.
I love how she pretty describes everything awesome as "bananas". So to conclude,
The Rachel Zoe Project is bananas.
2. Project Runway: I must say that this show is as real as it gets. Contestants
under pressure, tears, drama. The show sheds light on the fact that the fashion
industry isn't all glitz and glam. Nothing is sugar-coated, which makes it one
of my favorites.
3. America's Next Top Model: It is about time that the show became more high-
fashion by switching one of the prizes of being featured in Seventeen Magazine
to Italian Vogue. And the addition of Andre Leon Talley to the panel made the
show THAT much better.

So with that being said, grab some popcorn, kick back and happy fashion watching.

In my opinion, a "luxe" looking outfit must include one or more of the following:

Fall Trends

1. Chunky Cable Knits:
Sweater season is back. The cable knit sweater is a classic for the fall.
Kick it up a knotch with a looser, baggier version. Pair it with leggings
or skinny jeans and you've got yourself the perfect casual fall outfit.

2. Heeled Loafer:
Mix two classics (heels and loafers) and you've got the "it" shoe for fall.
Pair it with trousers for the office or with your favorite pair of skinny
jeans for a more casual look.

3. Chokers:
Chokers are coming back with full force. Remember those tattoo-style chokers
from the 90's? Now the statement-makers come in metal, brass, silver, and gold.
The super sleek pieces will surely top off any outfit.

4. Colorful Coats:
Usually, the color palette of fall consists of dark and muted colors. To
avoid looking bland, stay warm in a colorful, oversized coat. It will surely
look chic and make you stand out.

5. Polka Dots:
Well, out of this list, this is the trend that never really went away.
It's like a volcano; it's dormant then all of a sudden it explodes, and

time of year? Well there is only one thing that would force me to
stand on a line for two hours outside on a day with a heat index of
110 degrees – my own Harry Potter wand. Hold your laughter because
you all just need to admit you’re upset the final installment of
Harry Potter really is the end of it all. No sequels. Nothing.

And where did I get this wand of mine? Ollivanders Wand Shop, of
course not at Diagon Alley, but at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida. It’s the whole
Harry Potter experience, or close to it. You can drink butterbeer and eat
a chocolate frog at Honeydukes. And you know Moaning Myrtle? Well heads up
ladies, she talks to you in the bathroom.

Until now, the last time I had long hair was in kindergarten and that
was in 1996. Now that I FINALLY grew my hair out, I’m bored of it.

Sandra of one of my favorite blogs, 5 Inch and Up, inspired me to use
things as unconventional as silver wiring from a craft store to tie up
my hair. Sandra used napkin rings. My hair is super thick so the wiring
would be perfect seeing that I can adjust it to fit tightly around my
hair. Don’t feel like unconventional hair ties are limited to wires and
napkin rings – I’m sure if you meander along the aisles of Bed Bath and
Beyond and Home Depot you’ll find something to suit your fancy.

Leather and Handcuffs

Summer is coming to a close. It’s time to pack up the flip-flops and the tank tops, and whip out the leather
and the handcuffs. No, don’t fret, no need to buy a literal whip.

Slick leather separates are a must for fall. This time we’re not just sticking to leather pants, but also leather
tops and skirts. You’re probably thinking dominatrix, but no one’s asking you to wear head to toe leather. I say
let the leather be your main piece and assemble the rest of your outfit around it.

For the office, wear a leather top with a bright pencil skirt or dark jeans. For going out, be bold and wear that
leather dress, as long as it is not more than 3 inches above your knees (please, no one wants to see your underwear).

In addition to leather, handcuffs have become a trend – bracelet handcuffs that is. Two things come to mind when I
see handcuffs and they are jail and eroticism, but Louis Vuitton, for example, made them classy and elegant.

Missoni x Target

Downtown Disney

For my second day in Florida, we went to Downtown Disney, which is
pretty much the entertainment and shopping area of Disney World.
Rather than going out to clubs and such, I played dress-up with
Mickey Mouse hats, posed in front of funny mirrors, and did the
regular tourist-taking-a-bunch-of-pictures-thing.

Looks can be deceiving. The weather may seem perfect in Florida right?
Wrong...well at least for me. It was much too hot and humid. Too much
sunshine in the Sunshine State. However, during the winter when I usually
go down to Florida, the weather is awesome. So if anyone wants to go to
Florida, save your trip for December!

After 12 days, I am finally back home! That must have been the longest
vacation ever. I can't wait to resume my normal schedule. In the coming days

It pretty much rained all day. It was actually quite refreshing seeing
as the past few days have been 100 degrees and suffocatingly humid. I hope,
however, I meet as little rain as possible on my vacation to Florida for the
next two weeks. Disney World and Universal Studios are on my Top 10 list of
things that make me inexplicably happy.

BTW, I need to really start working out. Random, I know...but I figure that
if I write/type it, I really will start working out.

I've only become obsessed with watches a year ago. I never thought they
could be great fashion accessories. I always thought, "Hey, I can check
the time on my phone." Now I realize that an accessory that is classic,
"timeless" (HA you see what I did there?) AND has an actual purpose, will
always have a place on my wrists.

I usually hate knock offs. Nothing makes me more mad than seeing fake

Yesterday I went to the Bronx Zoo with my two best friends to conclude my
so-called "Week of Fun". The end of Week of Fun is a sign that Summer will
be coming to a close shortly. I'm actually excited. There's only so much I
can do with tank tops and shorts. I'm sure most of you would agree.

Anyways, on Friday I got my first tattoo! At some point, probably 5 years
from now, I want to get the quote "Some birds aren't meant to be caged" on
my inner forearm to connect with my new feather tattoo.

I hope you all had your own "Week of Fun" and enjoyed it as much as I did!

This week I made a few purchases, which include these menswear inspired
shoes from Forever 21 and a pair of neon green Doc Marten knockoffs (I'll
show you some time later this week). I can't wait to wear these come Fall

I can't believe it's already July. We're already getting Fall fashion previews
and it has got me thinking of back-to-school clothes. Boots come to mind when I
think of Fall and these boots are definitely on my list of things to actually buy.
The golden heel puts a twist on this classic silhouette. I will probably wear
these every day...I mean, can you blame me?

So being that my name is Rizzi, I was never able to get souvenir key
chains, shot glasses or necklaces with my name and it pretty much sucked
when I though they were the coolest things ever when I was five. These
initial pendants by India Hicks are just what I need to make up for my
crushed hopes and dreams that I would find a shot glass in some foreign
land with my name on it.

I found this dress the other day at Gap. It's actually supposed to be some
sort of workout tunic, but you and I both know that I'm not going to use it
to workout. The mesh back and open sides are so perfect for summer. Too bad

Beatle Boots, Beatle Boots

Lately, the weather has been horrible this summer. Constant rain. It has me
thinking of boots rather than sandals. These Alexander Wang Anouck Beatle Boots
are perfect. The detail in the heel presents enough edge to separate itself from
it's classic counterparts.

It's just the beginning of summer and I'm already thinking about fur coats
and the layering of clothes that come with the seasons of fall and winter.
Inside US Vogue's July 2011 issue is the film noir-esque of fashion that
brings me to the 1940's. I most especially love what Frida Gustavsson is
wearing - Gucci lavender fox jacket and Ralph Lauren pin-striped wool skirt.

For some reason whenever I see this dipped dye look with pastel colors
it reminds me of the Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti Fall 2010 collection
(as seen here in a previous blog post of mine).

By the way, I would love to try this look someday, but if I can't even do
a simple ombre with a fade from black to light brown without leaving in the
hydrogen peroxide for more than six hours then I don't know if fading to a
pastel color would work. Bummer.

A few days ago I went thrift shopping and I bought so many high-waisted
shorts and pants (which I then made into shorts). I'm super excited because
I rarely ever find shorts from Salvation Army that fit me perfectly. My mom
was not as thrilled as I am to see the money she gave me didn't go to "nice"
clothes, which in her language is anything that contains flowers and all sorts
of ultra girly, mildly conservative, fit for a 12 year old crap.

So I did the ombre style on my hair (or at least attempted). Let me
tell you, my hair is so hard to dye. Hours upon hours of dying my hair
with permanent color and hydrogen peroxide hair stuff did not
significantly change it. Damn thick asian hair.

Hello all! I'm finally back after a vacation in Atlantic City. It's
going to take me a while to get into the swing of things. My week was
filled with beaches, tanning, relaxing, boardwalks, and fun with my
closest friends. Not only that, but I somehow managed to break the
hotel room doorknob, put stink bombs in my room in the midst of a
prank war, and I even had to call 911 for my boyfriends little
surfing boo-boo.
